Brazilian acoustic guitarist, was born in São Paulo, Brazil.
He began studying guitar at the age of 9 with classical guitarist and composer Carlos Oliveira.

Manoelito’s exceptional talent and devotion for music quickly made him well known, as his name often appeared on local news papers in his community.  In just a few years after his first guitar lesson, he started performing with his tutor and toured cities in the state of São Paulo and Bahia, as well as participated in contests in the city of Curitiba, Paraná, in Brazil.

Manoelito graduated from the Conservatory of Music of Cubatão-São Paulo in 1990, and started his teaching career in public schools.  On the following year, he perfected his abilities at the Dr. Carlos de Campos Conservatory of Music under the tutorial of Geraldo Ribeiro, top guitarist at the time.  During that year, Manoelito made several appearances on the Litoral TV ( Brazilian national TV) and cultural centers.  In 1992, Manoelito received a full Scholarship to study with instructors Giacono Bartoloni and Maria Livia São Marcos during the Festival XXII in Campos de Jordão, São Paulo.  At that time, only ten guitarists in the entire country were given such privilege.  Manoelito's tremendous passion for music made him seek new challenges.  Before long, he enrolled back in school.  Three years later, he concluded his master degree in classical guitar, becoming a licensed teacher at the University of Lusiada in Santos, São Paulo.  During his first year of studies as a graduate student, Manoelito participated in various seminars and attended classes at Mozarteum University of São Paulo, where he studied interpretation techniques with the French composer Roland Dyens.  He also studied composition, improvisation and jazz in the Integrated Circle of Contemporary Music under the supervision of composer Ricardo Simões in the city of São Paulo.  As an outstanding player, Manoelito quickly mastered his ability to combine the best of the Brazilian music, pop, jazz and folk Latin music.

Manoelito admires classical music and the work of the Great Masters of the music, and among those is the famous popular guitarist BADEN POWELL.  In September of 1999, Manoelito was honored with an invitation to open one of BADEN POWELL’s concerts.  It was a great event in Manoelito’s career.  BADEN POWELL passed away in December of 1999.

Manoelito moved to The United States in November of 1999.  In only a few months after his arrival, he was invited to participate, as a guitarist and arranger for the Mexican folk songs in the play “Between Pancho Villa and a Naked Woman” by Sabrina Berman, directed by Cora Cordona at the Deep Ellum Center for the Arts.  As an associate of the Dallas International Musicians of the United States and Canada, Manoelito participated in their "guitar in the community program," performing in the 2002 National Hispanic Heritage month.  He currently is a member of Forth Worth Classic Guitar Society.  Between 2000 and 2002, he attended several guitar master classes with international icons, such as Carlos Barbosa Lima, John Duarte, Manuel Barrueco, Roberto Hussel,and Jorge Morel.  In the summer of 2003, Manoelito completed his course  of Music, and acquired his  Artist Certificate Degree at the Southern Methodist University, in Dallas, Texas.  He enjoys his profession as  a guitar player and music educator.  Manoelito gives individual and group lessons, plays in events.  He always keeps an open door for new opportunities that involves music.
